An e-mail

From: Jordi
To: Nick

Subject: Hi from California!!

Hi, Nick!
I’m writing this e-mail from California. The weather is really hot at the moment but I like here because the people are very funny and extroverted. We’ve visited the country.

We’ve just arrived here in California. In the few days we’ve driven trough beautiful streets and we’ve seen a marvelous sea. I’ve enjoyed the food and we’ve had a bad experience, only one, it’s fantastic.

Tonight we’re staying at a big hotel in the center of California. Tomorrow we’re going to travel by bus trough the seals and other animals. It should be fun.

I hope you’re well Nick. I’ll write again soon!!

Jordi

Describing a 'life picture'

MY LIFE PICTURE

In my picture the colours are red and grey because they’re very amusing. I also think that I am a funny person. I’m sometimes chatty and extroverted.

There’s a photo of me and my best friends Júlia, Meritell, Júdit and Laura in the centre of the picture. I’m staying whit my friends. I like this activity because it is really funny and I speak with them of my problems.

There are other people and places in my picture. You can see that I like the mountains because my favourite sport is skiing and I like people who are funny. Also I like animals, but cats and fish more because they are very beautiful.

A survivor's story

Tsunami

Last year I was fishing with my brother on his boat. One day we were about five kilometres from the beach when the weather became stormy.

Suddenly, I saw a massive wave. I was very frightened. Then we saw an other massive wave, the next moment there was panic. My brother and I were shouting: “it’s a tsunami!”.

Afterwards, my brother had a good idea, this saved our life. The idea was going away from the beach, about thirty kilometres. It was a terrible experience, and we arrived on the beach. The next day we saw a city destroyed. Our family didn’t survive.
